Getting to North Stradbroke Island:

Ferries and water taxi's run regularly from Cleveland, on the mainland, to Dunwich, on North Stradbroke Island.

There are two options for travel to North Stradbroke Island. You can bring your vehicle over on the vehicle barge which leaves from Cleveland and arrives at the Dunwich Jetty in Dunwich. The trip across takes about 50 mins.  You can visit Stradbroke Ferries to book your vehicle crossing at www.stradbrokeferries.com.au. You can also "walk-on" to the vehicle barge.

The Stradbroke Flyer is the water taxi and arrives at One Mile Jetty, also in Dunwich.  The Water Taxi’s are met by local bus companies which take visitors to Dunwich, Amity Point and Point Lookout. You can view the timetable for the water taxi at www.flyer.com.au

You can also access a shuttle bus service now operating on North Straddie who will deliver you from ferry to door! You can visit www.stradeasy.com.au for more information.

Should you wish to take your 4WD onto the beach on North Stradbroke Island it will be necessary to purchase a 4WD permit prior to accessing the beach. These can be purchased from the Visitor Information Centre at Dunwich and the Cylinder Beach camping ground office.
